Steak Sandwich with Homemade Herb Butter
Easy yet sure to impress, this Steak Sandwich filling can be made in advance and stay good for several days in the fridge. Scale up or down for as many people as you're feeding!
Ingredients:
Herb butter
- 1 stick of Unsalted Butter
- Chopped Parsley to taste
- Chopped Chives to taste
- Minced Garlic to taste
Sandwich
- 1.5 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Baguette
- 1 lb Steak
- 1 Yellow Onion, sliced
- Sliced Cheese
- Arugula
Instructions:
Prepare herb butter.
- Mix together softened unsalted butter with parsley, chives, and garlic
- Set aside or refrigerate until building the sandwich
Prepare sandwich.
- Heat oil in a cast iron skillet
- While skillet is heating, slice baguette open lengthwise, toast, and butter generously with herb butter
- Once skillet is hot, add Steak and season generously with salt, cook until golden
- Remove Steak from skillet and add the Onion, cook until golden brown
- Add cooked Steak and Onion to open Baguette
- Place sliced cheese on top of Steak and Onion, wait until cheese is slightly melted from the heat
- Add Arugula (and whatever other toppings you may like) and serve!
