Abington Celebrates Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
Tuesday November 12th 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
November 1, 2013 at 1:10 PM

Tuesday, November 12, 2013 is Chicken Soup for the Soul Day. According to the creators of the book series with the same name, Chicken Soup for the Soul Day was created as “…a celebration of who you are, where you’ve been, were you’re going and who you will be thankful to when you get there!”

Trucchi’s is pleased to host local author, Michele Christian-Oldham. Michele currently has four stories published in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and will be on-hand to autograph copies of the following titles:

Chicken Soup for the Soul “It’s Christmas!”
Chicken Soup for the Soul “Family Matters”
Chicken Soup for the Soul “Twins and More”

This is a great opportunity to comfortably get a jump on holiday shopping as well as taking this day as a celebration of the value and healing of chicken soup. Chicken soup has long been seen as remedial for colds, flus and just about anything that ails you. Have a happy Chicken Soup for the Soul Day!

Your Hometown Store Turns 85!
May 3, 2013 at 9:07 AM

Trucchi’s Supermarkets values the friendship of customers, employees and suppliers whom we recognize as family, friends and neighbors. Your loyalty and support are the very heart of this company. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be your Hometown Store since 1928.

For the past 85 years we have followed William Trucchi Sr.’s philosophy. Friendship is the true key to success. William was only 16 years old when he opened his first store on Tremont Street in 1928. He only had $500, which he had borrowed from his Italian immigrant parents. The small market went under the name of Hometown Stores and was about the size of a small house.

Our business weathered the depression. Trucchi’s would not be here today if not for the loyalty of local customers, and the trust William placed with those customers during that time. William would often extend credit to those who were unable to pay.

After William had expanded the size of the Tremont St. store, he purchased a distribution center and opened his second location in West Bridgewater, Hometown Stores became Trucchi’s Supermarkets.

Our top priority without exceptions, is customer satisfaction. Hometown Services such as offering to help load your groceries into your car are just one of the many things we do to give back to our customers. Making sure that you walk into a clean store, with fully stalked high quality product and friendly service are things we inspect constantly. With our weekly inspections, and our buyers visiting each of our stores on an almost daily basis…we do our very best to give each store individual attention.

It has been an exciting challenge for us to stand out from the competition. There are many things that make Trucchi’s so unique. For instance, Our Fruit Nut and Candy Program in our Produce Department. an exciting challenge for us to stand out from the competition. There are many things that make Trucchi’s so unique. For instance, Our Fruit Nut and Candy Program in our Produce Department. A specialty food that has made us unique from your typical grocery store, is Magic Pop and Deli Pop. Low Calorie Rice Cakes that we Pop Fresh right there in our store! The Magic Pop snacks are highly popular for those on a diet because they make such a healthy snack and are so tasty. Deli Pop Snacks are smaller rice cakes which we drizzle with melted chocolate, they’re absolutely delicious! We also pop our very own Popcorn which includes not just your regular variety of popcorn, but Krazy Corn (flavored popcorn) and Kettle Corn. All made fresh for you right there in our Deli Pop and Popcorn kiosks.

Just as we are proud to be an independent grocer, we are proud of our Italian heritage. Sharing our favorite foods from Italy is something we find important. Which is why we carry a wide variety of Italian Imported products. Straight from Italy and onto our shelves. You’ll find items you wouldn’t typically find at your local supermarket.

There are items  that can only be found at our stores. Trucchi’s Olive Oil has been our most recent product we began to carry. A product packed in Italy. We have also started carrying our own Trucchi’s Tote Bags

Over the past 85 years, we have conservatively grown into six locations with our own distribution center. Our sixth store location opened in March of 2012. It was a milestone for us. It was a true test to what we were capable of accomplishing. We are very proud of the result. The amount of dedication and hard work from our personnel and the hours they put in to make opening the store possible was astounding; it took every ounce of every person in this operation. A brand new Hometown Store that brought forward eighty plus years of knowledge, experience and Hometown Pride to design the Trucchi's of Today.

Our most recent project is the Remodel of our County Street store in Taunton. Although we are still in the process of construction, you can already see the significant changes that have been made. Currently we are working on the facade of the building and just recently moved the Produce Department to the Entrance of the store.

As our independent business has grown throughout the years, we carry on William Trucchi Sr.'s legacy. We base all of our decisions off of his core belief in the importance of family, friends and neighbors. Being "Your Hometown Store" has been such an honor, Thank you for 85 years from all of us here at Trucchi's.
